One of my musical allies, Luis Flores, while exiled in Minnesota, finished a new set of songs: Bear Music. It contains eleven tracks that clock in at a cool thirty-three minutes and thirty-four seconds. A good pair of headphones will increase the nutritious quality of your listening experience, as you may hear those sounds that travel along more subtle wave-lengths. The style and genre of the music is uniquely LC Flowers’ brand, and you will be hard-pressed to find an equivalent – much less a replacement – of Bear Music out in the aural wilderness.

A very good album cover for a very good album.

My favorite track from the set is “Weather Motif.” When I listen to that song, I encounter a good feeling not unlike that from when I listen to music from Do Make Say Think – especially something like “Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!” from Winter Hymn Country Hymn Secret Hymn. The closing track, “Coat of Arms,” has a kind of Joy Division/New Order guitar work that I really enjoy, in addition to a lot of other soothing sounds. There’s always a lot happening in Luis’ music, which, I think, makes it very fun to listen to.

I rate this album 10/10. I’ve attached his first LC Flowers album below:
