I have been busy with work and family over the past handful of years, but in that time, I’ve also sat down at an upright piano in my house and written some songs. I’ve called these songs Piano Collection: Season of Sound. Some of the songs are about places and occasions, but quite a few songs are about people — many of them family, but all of them a family-of-sorts. I found a lot of inspiration in the music of Jean-Michel Blais and Nils Frahm. The latter’s software Noire from Native Instruments proved very essential in the production of these tracks.
